New jobs and new challenges...

Well, it has been awhile since I last posted and since then I have been working on my brochure design for KavCom, now currently in editing phase and have been asked to design a birthday/graduation invite as well! So exciting! You can see the design that was created for Tricia's grad/ bday party below as well as a children's party design I created!

I have also decided to throw my hat in the ring for a minted.com design challenge! The final date to submit is May 30th, so I have a little less than a week to put together a couple of ideas and see how it goes! Wish me luck!

New projects!

So, as you may recall, I was working with KavCom Conscious Communications helping to create print materials for the new business and I am now beginning work on a brochure for KavCom! Very excited to begin a new project with Susan! Should be fun!

I should also begin working on a personal project for a friend of mine. She is wanting a mural to be painted in her sons' playroom. I will begin work on this project this summer. Plans are to paint a scene of dinosaurs...looking forward to a different creative outlet to come!

Lastly, I am still working on some projects hopefully in the near future for friend's weddings and new babies. Hopefully you will see some new work very soon!

Baby Fever!

Seems everyone around me is having a new addition to their family. In order to match this trend, I decided to begin working on a baby announcement line. Here are some of my new creations. Enjoy! More to come.....

Blog Challenge

So, I am rather new to blogging and am finding it difficult to keep it current. I have now decided to start a blog challenge for myself. I will post a new blog each week for the month of April and moving into May will try and post 2 blogs a week.

To make this a legitimate blog post, I will discuss my newest read- Creative, Inc. This book is a guide to freelancing and I have found that after 1 day and 3 chapters, it is very motivating. My goal this week will be to read 2 chapters and begin working on establishing my at home business even further than I have thus far. Step #1- work on a website and purchase a domain name.

Will check in next week!

Business cards and Photography

My first project with KavCom is complete and now I am on to marketing myself. I am currently having a friend of mine work on some professional photographs of some of my work so that I can display them on my blog in another format. I cannot wait! As soon as I receive them, I will post them.

In addition to my work being photographed, I am hoping to print my business cards for emvy {creative} this week.

Not a whole lot new, but looking forward to what could lie ahead once I get myself out there a little more!

KavCom

I have been working with Susan on creating a business card for her LLC. I feel that this job has just been so invigorating for me. We have really enjoyed playing with different colors that "work" for her and for her business and exemplify KavCom. We have just completed the business card and so I wanted to upload to my blog as part of my more recent portfolio. Enjoy! Hopefully, there will be more KavCom work to come!

Brittany's Bridal Breakfast

My cousin, Brittany, is getting married in April and I have been lucky enough to be a part of some of the planning, if you will, and creating of some of her print work. The first piece I am working on is a menu for her bridal shower breakfast.

This menu incorporates her color choices for the wedding as well as a victorian type element to parallel with her shower invites. I will post pictures of the finished printed copy as well!

Excited to get started...

As the new year has begun, so has my excitement to begin something for myself: emvy {creative}. I have always been interested in getting back to my roots and feel so grateful that this time has finally come. Since this is my first blog, I invite you to follow along with me through this journey as I work with my new clients and begin coming into my own.

Thank you to everyone supporting me through this and I look forward to your feedback on this journey.
